Geofencing · staff access and member check-in
Pin your gym once and set a radius. Managers, trainers and front desk can open AdviceFit only while they are inside it, and members can tap Check In only there too. The server measures the distance, refuses fake or stale readings, and logs every attempt.
Iron Fitness allows AdviceFit for staff only inside the gym. You have been signed out.
You were about 1,240 m from the nearest location.
Rohit, front desk, 9:41 PM. Signed out, nothing loaded.
Staff access
Switch on Staff access and a manager, trainer or front-desk login works only inside a location you set, or from the gym's own network for the desk PC. Outside, they are signed out, even with a remembered login, and nothing loads: not a member's phone number, not a payment, not a report. You, the owner, are never locked out.
The owner is never locked out.
How it works
Ask AdviceFit to enable geofencing for your gym. Then in Settings → Geofencing, tap Use my current location while standing inside, choose the radius, and switch on staff access and member check-in separately.
The app reads the phone's location only at that moment and sends one reading with its accuracy and timestamp. Nothing is read in the background, and nothing is stored on the phone.
AdviceFit measures the distance itself. Inside: a staff login gets 20 minutes of access, a member gets their attendance. Outside, stale, weak or simulated: refused, with the reason shown and logged for you.
Member check-in
Members tap Check In in the AdviceFit app only while they are inside the fence. Inside, attendance is recorded with the source Geofence and their streak keeps going. Outside, the app says how far away they are and nothing is recorded. Until you add a location, members who are allowed to self check-in can do so from anywhere.
Built for trust, not surveillance
A trainer reading member numbers from home, a check-in from the sofa: geofencing closes both doors without turning the app into a tracker.
Members can tap Check In in the AdviceFit app only while they are inside this location.
Biometric terminals from eSSL, ZKTeco and Realtime keep running exactly as before. Geofenced app check-ins join the same attendance list, so one report shows the whole day, and the source filter separates Biometric, Manual and Geofence when you need to.
Add as many locations as you run, each with its own radius and accuracy rule. A member checks in at whichever branch they are standing in; the nearest fence is the one that counts. Switch a branch off without touching the others.
Staff by phone, too. The same geofence engine marks employee attendance for offices and factories in AionHRMS, a biometric attendance system with payroll, the sister product built on AdviceFit's biometric engine.
Questions gym owners ask
They are signed out. A remembered login does not help: the moment the app or the website confirms they are outside the gym, every session for that login is ended and nothing loads, not members, not payments, not reports. They sign in again at the gym. Each refused attempt is logged for you with the distance and the time.
No. The owner is never gated. Staff access applies to manager, trainer and front-desk logins, and only after you switch it on in Settings → Geofencing.
Add your gym broadband's public IP address under Staff access. Requests from that connection count as inside, so the desk PC never needs GPS. Mobile data addresses change all the time, so only add the gym's fixed line.
When they open the app, then quietly every 20 minutes while they use it, and again when the app comes back to the foreground after the last check ran out. Never in the background, and never without the first-time explanation.
No. The AdviceFit app reads the phone's location only at the moment the member taps Check In, and never in the background. The first time, the app explains why it needs location before the phone asks for permission.
You choose the accuracy you will accept for each location (50 m by default). A reading that is less accurate than that is refused as Weak GPS, the member sees why, and they can step towards a window or use the biometric terminal instead.
The phone never decides whether it is inside. It sends one reading with its accuracy and time; AdviceFit measures the distance to your pin on the server. Readings from mock-location apps are refused, and so are readings older than two minutes.
No. Geofencing is part of the AdviceFit member app on iOS and Android. Members on an app version from before October 2026 are asked to update the app the first time they tap Check In at a geofenced gym.
Yes. Terminal punches and geofenced app check-ins land in the same attendance list. The source filter shows Biometric, Manual and Geofence separately.
No. AdviceFit enables geofencing for your gym on request. You then add your gym's location in Settings → Geofencing and turn on, separately, staff access inside the gym and member check-in inside the gym. Nothing applies until you do.
